Lost. If Found Please Contact...
Now normally I probably would have never noticed because it's not like I inventory my clothes, but this is a special case because these pants are 'THE' pants.
You know the ones. The ones that fit perfectly, look great on, and are almost as comfortable as PJ's. Yeah, those pants. I CAN'T FIND THEM ANYWHERE!?! :( Makes me sad.
Anywho, onto other business. Life is starting to become 'the norm' for me. Things that I would have found interesting when I first moved here are becoming the ordinary. Which is kinda sad cause it was really fun to never know what to expect. Although Me, Ariel, Rachel, Brenna, Sidney, and Aubrey did discover a little cafe just on the other side of campus a few days ago. It's called the Solid Rock cafe, and apparently it's a christian based cafe. Now, I'm usually not into religiously founded shops but this one was pretty nice and they have great smoothies and gourmet bagels. I will definately be stopping by there every once and awhile to grab some munchies. ^w^ They also had a group called Adam's Road come and perfom live out infront of the cafe. They were pretty good, for a christian rock band, and it they weren't to bad looking either. They were giving out free CD's so I decided to grab one.
As for school, my classes never cease to amaze me. Like these last few weeks, OODLES OF HOMEWORK!!! XP It was ridiculious! Most of it being Math...grr...I can't stand that class. I'm pretty sure our teacher has no idea what she's doing and is making it up as she goes. It's kind of sad really.
I get nothing but A's on all the homework, retain most of what I've learned from them, and I attend class EVERYDAY! (Haven't missed a day yet!) BUT, I'm still only averaging C+'s on the tests. It's really frustrating, but I guess I'll just have to find a way of doing better on tests.
Speaking of test, I also had to take an exam for Sociology. I'm pretty sure I did okay...(okay meaning I have no idea what I got and am hoping for the best)
Other than school, life has been rather dull here. My roomates and I have gotten into the habit of planning out a few evenings a week to just sit back and watch some shows on TV.
That 70's show has become our new all around favorite. Wednesday evenings is Ghost Hunters (I usually don't do scary things, but I'm getting better at not getting so freaked out) and Thursday nights is Female Cops. Which I've got to say, is a pretty cool show. These woman put up with alot and never seem to lose their cool.
So, yeah, that is life up until now! Love you all! I'll update soon (I promise)

"Marvel"ous Disney
for those of you who have not heard, Disney just bought Marvel Entertainment.
And I guess I should explain (Because I've been asked like a hundred times to today)
What this means is Disney now has total access to all of Marvel's 5000 and then some characters along with the power to use them in whatever format. This includes Movies, TV Shows, and Merchandise.
Now, this may seem like nothing to some people, but to me and all of my roomates...yeah...you'd think it was the apocalypse crashing down on us. Some of us were literally yelling about how angry we were with the whole ordeal.
But now the storm has calmed (somewhat) There has been more information posted by the head hanchos of both companies and understanding is taking place of angry confusion.
Apparently Disney is cutting a deal with Marvel that is similar to the one they cut with Pixar. Which is basially, "Do your own thing, stick one of our logos on it, split the profit" which I truly hope Disney will hold true to that.
Also, this deal does not include the comics themselves, so comics will go on being printed the same way they have been for the lovely 70 years that Marvel has been around. No story alterations, and no alterations on the heroes themselves. (Supposedly and Hopefully true)
My only great concerns with this is:
1) Crossovers: I lose all respect for both companies the second they start putting Donald and Iron Man in the same movie or cartoon, or any other combinations of Disney Characters with Marvel Heroes. Not to mention, if they so much as utter the name "Jonas Brothers" or "Hannah Montana" in an animated clip, I will puke repeatedly. It's blasphemy...DON'T DO IT!
AND
2)Alterations: Thor is Thor, Captain America is Captain America, Hulk is Hulk. Any major changes in their personalities, mannerisms, or costume alterations will not be tolerated. I can understand toning them down a bit for the enjoyment of younger audiences, but don't "Disney-fy" them to the point of non-recognition. They should be family AND fan friendly.
There are few other issues that are still not quite settling in me, but I'm still just trying to find the positive in this.
I ended up posting some of the positive effects on Marvel's forum this morning in an attempt to calm my own worries and that of many others. (I kid you not, there must be hundreds of bitter filled posts on that site, all of which, were directed at Marvel and Disney. What can I say? We comic fans are dedicated. Thought there shoud be some positism on there, so here's my two cents...or three...whatever)
"Okay hold on there folks, lets look at what some of the advantages are to this. Disney is one of the leading animation studios in the world practically. So in the event of movies or cartoons being produced, then yeah, you're going to be viewing some pretty nice animation. (Hopefully) And yes I'm pretty sure they're going to have to tame down some stuff, but for a good reason. I'm pretty sure no mother is gonna let her son watch some huge man who crushes people to death under his foot and yells "I'm the juggernaut Bee-otch". You can still have a good story with out mass amounts of gore, swearing, and flamboyant displays of affection. IT IS POSSIBLE!! That little boy deserves to watch juggernaut destroy cities and cars! That chance should not be ruined just because of a swear word here or some blood there. If they made stuff like what DC did with WB or like the old 90's X-men (Only better quality animation and voice casting), then I think that would be pretty damn cool, not to mention they'd gain a whole new generation of fans.
Also, think about it, Disney makes most of its money off of what?...The Disney Princess', which honestly, boys could careless about. And Marvel ships big musclely super heroes, which girls could care for about as much. But if you combined the two, you just got a much broader audience. And to be quite honest, I think characters like Storm, Rogue, and Wasp are much better role models then Sleeping Beauty, Belle, or Snow White.
And Disney has the capacity to make them appeal to little girls. And it works in reverse too. Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man are ten times more alluring then stupid prince charming over there. Once again, regaining tons of new potential comic fans, boys AND GIRLS alike!
Now, I understand that yeah, there is HUGE potential of failure. But look at it this way, if Disney really does screw it up, it's going to have A HUGE MONSTROUS WAVE OF DISAPPOINTED COMIC FANS to deal with. In other words...if they screw up once, once is all they get. They won't dare attempt a second try, BUT in the event that they're stupid enough to do that, they're box offices are going tank, cause we won't give them a second chance. So yeah, lots of potential to be pretty BA, but also has the potential of being a huge heaping pile. Please don't screw this up Disney and Marvel! Make something drop-dead amazing! 8D"
Yeah....I felt slightly better afterwards...slightly...

Drawing Binge
So, in an earlier post, I mentioned how I didn't really know if I liked my 2D design teacher or not yet, well, I've finally deduced that she and I are on liking terms. She actually reminds me alot of my Aunt Stephanie XD. They have similar mannerisms and how she presents herself just some how makes me think of Aunt Steph.
I gotta tell ya though, today, I got a real kick out of her. She gave us a lecture on unity and we did a little group activity and stuff, but then afterwards she gave us this project to work individually.
She printed off two pictures, one of a coke can and the other of the Mac Apple, and what she wanted us to do was to color each one how ever we wanted and when we finished she'd put them all up on the wall like an andy warhol picture. Pretty cool, am I right?
I was pretty psyched cause this was our first 'real' project in this class, and my creativity was just aching to be released, I'm getting real sick of stupid lectures in art classes, I want CREATE!!! Not discuss how or why things are created. (and yes I know those things are important, but I'm an impatient little art geek like that. XD )
Anyways, so me being me (In other words, I was being detail obsessed again, lol what else is new? right? XD ), I go to town on these things and really have a good time with it.
During this time, she's walking around...looking at everyone's work...then she gets to my table...and she FREAKS OUT! Which really caught me off guard, cause I mean: 1) I wasn't expecting it and 2) I haven't had a teacher...or really anyone for that matter...do that in years!
It's just, I've gotten used to that toned down analysis of my art that comes with being in AP Art, but this teacher man! You'd think she just discovered the freaking cure for cancer with how excited she got! O.O
And then she did it...one of my BIGGEST pet peeves in art teachers...she picked up my pictures AND SHOWED THEM TO THE FREAKING CLASS!!! And of course, now EVERYONE has to get out of their seats and come look.....head went straight to desk....IT'S SO FREAKING EMBARASSING WHEN TEACHERS DO THAT! DX I thought I'd finally escaped it my sophmore year at High school...apparently not....Yuck!...I hate it!...*sigh* It's all good though, I still really like her, and I'm pretty sure she won't do it again after this....I hope anyways ^^;
Aside from all the hours of drawing and crazy teachers, I took my first test today! It was a pre-algebra test, and I'm feeling pretty confident that I did well. :) I knew my stuff, and there were only a few things that I didn't understand, but overall I think I got a B at the least! I hope the rest of my tests go that well.

The First Few Days of Higher Learning
Yesterday I started off the day with Drawing, which I gotta tell ya, I'm so freaking psyched for! It starts at like 8:30 in the morning, which as everyone knows, I'm not a morning person, but amazingly I'm more than willing to wake up for this class.
My teacher, Adam Larsen, is a really great guy and I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorite classes, and the best part is that it's a three hour class! *Squee* Our first assignment is to draw a self portrait, which I'm not all that jazzed about but I'm just happy to be drawing again! *happy sigh* I love art classes, SO MUCH! ^3^ Anyways, then after Art I came home (Home as in back to our apartment) and was able to hang out for a few hours before my next class, which, unfortunately, is math.
STUPIDEST MATH CLASS EVER!!! DX I'm basically back at square one in math! Our teacher had us make multiplication flash cards....FLASH!!!...CARDS!!! I FEEL LIKE A THIRD GRADER! XP Thank goodness it's only an hour long and the homework (obviously) is easy.
Then after that, I went to PE, which was okay. My teacher is some tough little old grandma. XD Which makes me happy; I like old people. Our first assignment is to make a seven week plan and pick a goal from several they offered and I chose the one to eat a healthy breakfast three times a week. Which suprisingly hasn't been all that hard to accomplish. I've actually been having some good breakfasts. Like I had a bowl of Oatmeal cereal with toast and a glass of milk...so freaking weird!? I hardly eat that healthy, let alone a healthy breakfast!
So, that was the first day. I went to 2D design this morning, which I'm not sure if I like my teacher or not, she's just kind of...tolerable...not boring, but not all that exciting either. The class seems pretty promising though. I want to see what projects we'll be doing. From what it sounds like, its going to be alot like AP Art. There is critiques and everything! So I think this will be a fun class for me as well.
Then after that I went to Sociology, which I'm pretty sure our teacher is semi-insane. Like he seems normal, but he seems...off...not like bad off, like socially awkward off, like he trys to be funny and get everyone to laugh, and which we usually do but it's not because he's funny, its more or less because he's acting like a dork. XD It's really kind of wierd, but I think I'll still enjoy the class.
Then...*ugh*...had to repeat the horror that is my math class...it's only one hour...it's only one hour...it's only one hour...
And thus far has my day been. I have one last class tonight, the visiting artist class, which I'm really psyched for. I can't wait to meet professional artists, and figure out how to get into the career I want.
And that is class life so far! I'll update soon! Love you all! :D

Day Two of Several Yet to Come
Also, on a more happy note, that night the SSP (Smart-Start Program) hosted an illusionist show performed by Mike Super, who was apparently the winner on some TV show called Phenomenon, which was kind of like an American Idol for magicians and it was hosted by Chris Angel...Yeah, I'd never heard of it, but decided (decided as in was dragged by Rachel, Ariel, and Trishelle) to go and Luigi follows suit cause there was nothing else better for him to do. So me and Luigi get there with them and we're both just kind of like, "Oh man this guy better be good and not just some retard who thinks he's all that and a bag of chips" right? Well, SHA-BAM! He ends up being this amazingly spectacular illusiounist! I can definately see why he was the winner! He not only pulled off some amazing stunts (which is to be expected based on his career choice) but he was pretty dang good comedian as well! His humor was a bit of a cross between Dane Cook and Jeff Dunham. He had alot of Dane's mannerisms and he'd pull some crude dirty jokes here and there but always come back with the sincerity that you seen in Jeff.
Anyways, well as in most magician shows, the magician always has to pull someone from the crowd to help him with a trick, right? And it just so happened he was looking for a male volunteer...all four of us glanced down at Luigi...and being the totally obnoxious little brats we are, jumped up and started screaming and hollering and pointing at him so that he'd get picked...our efforts produced!!! Mike Super came over and picked Luigi!!! XD With one final look of contempt back at the four innocent angels with crooked halos he called his friends, he made his way up to the stage.
And Rikki, I gotta tell ya, you have one amazing boyfriend. Once Luigi got up on stage, Mike stood there and flattered him and told him that he must be a total ladies man which led up to him asking Luigi if he was single or taken. Luigi stood proudly and announced to the entire audience that he was happily taken, and a huge disappointed whine come from about thirty girls. It doesn't get much more faithful then that babe!
So yeah, Luigi was part of one of those tricks where you have to pick a card (which was really ironic cause we had just got back from Wal-Mart an hour previous and bought some face cards XD) and the magician has to find your card, anyways, Mike went on this whole spcheel about "Psychic Powers" and "Being able to read Luigi's Mind" yadda yadda. So Luigi picks his card and Mike tells him to hold it facing away so he (He being Mike) can't see. So then Mike stands about five feet away from him and gets out this big sketch pad and is all like "Okay, so I'm going totally read you mind and then draw your card on this piece of paper." Well, okay that's kinda cool but can he pull it off? So he starts doodling it then amazingly presents the he's drawn...yeah...it was the wrong card XD...so he sits there and pulls the whole "Oh no! This shouldn't have happened, my career is kover, but wait I'll improv and see if I can make this work still!" act. So he says, "Well, this drawing actually isn't a completed picture! There's more! It's actually an animation!" So he adds a few more lines and makes it look like a 3-D deck of cards...oookay? So?....but there's apparently more!...so he flips the paper over to the next one behind it and it's the same deck only there is a card coming out of it...weird...then he flips the paper again...and the same card is pulled out more and it's Luigi's card!!! It was pretty freaking cool!! He even tore out the page and gave the drawing to Luigi as a souvenier! Awesome!
So yeah, we enjoyed the rest of the show and afterwards Luigi comes up to me and is all "I wonder if there is anyway we can get this drawing signed?!"...WHY NOT!?!?! 8D So me and him go looking around trying to find someone who could direct us to where Mike might have gone to after the show but sadly we had no such luck...but then, Trishelle, being the amazing-awesome person she is, shows us to some doors that lead towards where the back stage doors are located, but there was a sign that said "Authorized Personal Only"....We were all a little hesitant at first, but Luigi and I really wanted to get that picture signed! So I was like "Screw it! Let's go!" So we blast through the doors and start searching for him, it took a few minutes but WE FOUND HIM!!! He was more than happy to sign it for us, and hysterically enough, he thought i was Luigi's girlfriend, which I quickly came back with a definate "Oh No! I'm just friends with him and his girlfriend!" I know he's yours Rikki ;) He was very genuine and very courteous while talking to us which was amazing to me, cause I pegged him to one of those guys who lets the fame get there heads, which I really reget now cause he was even kind enough to get a picture of me, him and Luigi on my phone! (I'll upload it later) So yeah, it was a very exciting night! One we won't soon forget! :D
